Love of Christ, Love for Others by Eleanor Lewis
Did you ever notice that sometimes people are hard to love? Our natural tendency is to become angry if they don't do things our way or jealous if they do things better than we do. For four strong women teachers, who had done things their own way for years, to unite with one mind would take a God work. So that was our prayer from the beginning of The Amazing Collection.
Our 'big dream' prayer was to reach millions around the world with the teaching of the love of Christ. Our second prayer was that we would love one another and show the love of Christ. There can be a huge difference between our words and our actions. Can you imagine women, or men for that matter, working closely together without being catty, critical or hormonal - with or without the hormones? Yes, God's power would be necessary.
The great news is that regardless of the people we are commanded to love (it is a command John 13:34) God provides the love! "The love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us." (Romans 5:5) Therefore, to walk our talk, we must be sensitive to the leading and conviction of the Holy Spirit. Only then will we not seek our own but be patient and kind (I Corinthians 13)...or quickly ask for forgiveness when we are not.
Is there someone in your life that is difficult to love? Have you prayed about it? Ask God to change you... to fill you with the love of Christ!
"Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God" (I John 4:7)
As we have asked the Holy Spirit to control each of us, God has miraculously given us His heart and love for one another. Since that is God's desire, He will answer that prayer!
"Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us to Him be the glory." (Eph 3:20) |
